Glendale 6th Annual Open Studio Tour and Art Exhibit at Brand Library

Project Description

The City of Glendale Arts and Culture Commission has asked La Mancha Gallery to participate on the 6th Annual Studio Tour set for Saturday, July 24, 2010 from 12 pm to 6 pm. Glendale artists and art organizations will open up their studios to the public. This free, self-guided tour is a rare opportunity to peek into the studios and creative minds of many talented and award winning artists who live and work in City of Glendale.

Artists from Burbank, Los Angeles, Pasadena and other cities in the region will also exhibit their art alongside Glendalians and become part of this valuable tradition in the City of Glendale.

From July 17 – August 13 all participating artists will showcase one of their best pieces at the Brand Library Art Galleries located at 1601 West Mountain between Grandview and Western during library’s open hours. The Tour and the Reception is free to the public. Everyone is welcome.

La Mancha Gallery will offer curatorial assistance and feature the artworks of Andrea Vargas, Baron Norris, Benjamin Murguia, David Taveras, Deborah Ashe, Eddie Jelinet, Ivan Holguin, Marcus Collins, Maria Teresa Chavez, Marina K. Rehrmann, Minas Halaj, Natalie Franco, Nicole Franco, Novei Beige, Samvel Hallaj, Silvio Sangiorgi, and Xavier Yarto.

The Open Studio Tour is sponsored by the City of Glendale’s Community Services and Parks Department, Arts & Culture Commission, Brand Library, a division of the Glendale Public Library, and the Associates of Brand Library and Art Center.

Curatorial Assistance

All participating artists showcased their best pieces at the Brand Library Art Gallery located at 1601 West Mountain during library’s open hours. La Mancha Gallery offered curatorial assistance featuring the artworks of Andrea Vargas-Mendoza, Baron Norris, Benjamin Murguia, David Taveras, Deborah Ashe, Eddie Jelinet, Ivan Holguin, Marcus Collins, Maria Teresa Chavez, Marina K. Outdoor Installation

La Mancha Gallery featured an outdoor art installation at the 4,500 square foot Chess Park. The installation featured a artists represented by La Mancha Gallery presented collage of props to accentuate the artwork. The installation by Stephen M. Gates created a pleasing aesthetic that gave the viewer a chance to connect with the artist and his/her artwork
