Project Description

The inspiration for this event was conceived by George Pantages of All City Sports Marketing and his vision for how the skateboard art workshops could develop personal, educational and collective goals in the community.  The goals are to help the children and young adults in the community with building confidence and self-esteem, Developing technical and creative art skills in design, construction, and digital media, and offer a positive alternative to counterproductive activities (gang activity, drug use, etc.).

Event production & marketing by La Mancha Gallery with the contribution of The  Vex Arts along with All City Sports Marketing and Operation Street Kidz will present a day of entertainment for the community. Featured guests will include:  Legendary skateboard legend, Steve Olson, Lance Mountain and friends | George Pantages of All City Sports Marketing  | Artist Albert Reyes | Gabriel and Diana Jasso of Ramp Beds, Inc. | Artist and Skateboarder J. Wilson of Sacred Steel  | A Special dance presentation by The Funky Bones Dance Crew | Artist Ester Petchar |  Artwork curated Omar Holguin and Installation by Stephen M. Gates| Award winning muralist David Botello will gave a presentation of his life’s work  | Live musical entertainment by LATE  Food and Drinks and much more…

Paint, brushes and permanent markers will be available for participants to design their own skateboard  workshop artwork.  Participants will be able to take home their skate deck at the conclusion of the event.
