Dialogs of the Heart

An Inaugural Exhibition & Gathering

October 8, 2011 Hotel Maya, Long Beach, CA 1:00 – 5:00 PM PT

On October 8, 2011, La Mancha Fine Arts was honored to serve as the curatorial anchor for Dialogs of the Heart — an intimate afternoon gathering that brought together two of the most compelling visionary voices of our time alongside an exhibition of international contemporary art selected expressly for this occasion.

"An afternoon of art, music, and conversation curated not simply for the senses — but for the soul."

The event centered on a rare afternoon with Don Miguel Ruiz, the internationally celebrated author of The Four Agreements — a work that has resided on the New York Times bestseller list for more than seven years and ranks among the most widely read books of its decade. Don Miguel Ruiz brings a singular convergence of disciplines to his work: trained as a neurosurgeon and deeply rooted in the Toltec Nagual (Shamanic) tradition, he has forged a body of teaching that bridges ancient wisdom and contemporary understanding.

His books — among them The Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, and The Fifth Agreement, a collaboration with his son Don Jose Ruiz — are read across the globe, and he has earned recognition as a National Heirloom of Mexico.

Joining him was Daniel Gutierrez, World Transformation Leader, whose work in human potential and conscious living made him an ideal counterpart for what became the inaugural installment of the Dialogs of the Heart series — a platform for meaningful, life-altering conversation.

As curatorial partner for this event, I was deeply moved by the opportunity to translate the spiritual and philosophical dimensions of these teachers' work into a visual language. The exhibition I curated featured international artists whose practices engage themes of inner transformation, consciousness, and the deeper agreements we make with ourselves and the world around us.
