Services & Engagements

Curatorial Services for Institutions, Artists & Cultural Programs

Two decades of curatorial practice — now available to institutional partners, artists, and organizations building cultural programs across Southern California and beyond.

La Mancha works at two distinct scales. With institutional partners — cities, festivals, foundations, broadcasters, and hospitality operators — we produce curated arts pavilions, multi-event cultural programming, and ongoing strategic advisory. With artists and smaller organizations, we offer scoped, accessible engagements that match the realities of independent and community-rooted work.

Capabilities

What We Do, In Detail

Curatorial work is the spine of every engagement. The disciplines below are the supporting capabilities we bring to it — the production, editorial, and broadcast craft that make a curated program land for institutional audiences and community ones alike.

Core Discipline

Curatorial Services

The spine of every engagement — from single exhibitions to multi-year institutional programs.

Two decades of curatorial practice across more than two hundred exhibitions. We build exhibition concepts from artist roster development through installation, contextualize them with editorial scholarship, and ground them in the venues and communities where the work belongs. Curation is not a deliverable we add to an engagement — it is what every engagement is for.

How an Engagement Works

A Four-Step Process

Every engagement — institutional or independent — moves through the same four phases. The scope changes; the rhythm doesn’t. Here is what to expect from first contact through final handoff.

01

Discovery

15–30 Minutes

A brief conversation to understand your program, audience, venue context, and what success looks like. No charge, no obligation.

02

Scoped Proposal

5–7 Days

A written proposal with curatorial direction, deliverables, timeline, and pricing tailored to your program. Two rounds of refinement included.

03

Engagement

Project Duration

Curatorial work, production, and on-site presence through opening or program launch. Regular check-ins, transparent communication, and a single point of contact.

04

Documentation & Handoff

Post-Engagement

A closing summary with audience metrics, press coverage, photo documentation, and a written reflection on what worked — for your records, your funders, and your next program.
