Arts at Delicious at The Dunbar:

Featuring the photography of Jimmy Velarde

The September thru December exhibition highlights the photography of Emmy Award winner Jimmy Velarde. His work reflects  rhythm, memory, and cultural identity through black and white images shaped by decades of Los Angeles  music and street life. Visitors experience each piece through Velarde’s use of grain, shadow, and emotional detail.

Guests can explore the gallery while enjoying Southern and Mexican fusion dishes prepared by Delicious  at The Dunbar. QR codes on the gallery walls guide visitors to artist information and purchase options.
The monthly exhibition remains free to view and accessible during restaurant hours.

Sunday jazz continues each week, carrying the musical tradition of the Dunbar Hotel.  The historic landmark once welcomed Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Louis Armstrong. Today, guests enjoy live music in a space that reflects cultural heritage and community pride..

December programming also includes holiday dining, end of year highlights, and community engagement.  The Dunbar remains a cultural stop for families, travelers, and residents of South Los Angeles seeking art and  history in one visit.

Arts at Delicious at The Dunbar is curated and managed by La Mancha Gallery, a Los Angeles based  organization focused on accessible art, community partnership, and cultural programming across the city.
