“5 Excursions Of Love in Los Angeles”: Art Group Exhibit

5 Excursions Of Love in Los Angeles

Project Description

La Mancha Gallery is proud to announce their first event of 2009 appropriately titled “Five Excursions of Love in Los Angeles”, set to take place Saturday, February 14th, 2009 at the Mid-City Arts Gallery located at 5113 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90019.

This Art Group Exhibit features the work of 5 promising artists in Los Angeles whose work collectively reflects the City of Los Angeles as a source and inspiration.
Baron Norris Photography struggles to stay balanced on the thin line separating hope and despair, Informed by the isolation of Edward Hopper, the contemplative melancholy of Wong Kar Wai, and the pessimism and fatalism of classic film noir.
Juan Thorp conceptual drawings playfully deconstruct the world around him prompting viewers to question their own realities.
Natalie Franco Photography dares to cross over carrying a new aim that fuses a hybrid of fictional elements and fantasy. The new stylized imagery evolved into a whimsical color field of unexpected human behavior. Natalie’s signature look has emerged into this primordial genre behind these cinematic moments.
Silvio Sangiorgi an artist resident of Milan, Italy has recently made City of Los Angeles his muse. His portraits reveal the connection and representation of human identity.
Stephanie Mercado’s world of dark-eyed caricatures exists within a sphere of psychological timelessness. Her eerie, disproportioned individuals are archetypal reflections of the absurd and the grotesque, both present in human condition. Her caricatured archetypes depict and exaggerate the foibles of human nature. She uses circus culture as a metaphor for life with a whimsical critique of society operating as the subtext of each artwork

33third‘s retail location is nestled in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles where artists can walk in, talk to experts and other artists. Behind the retail store, Los Angeles Art Yard hosts a variety of events to showcase top and unique street artists and best practices for product usage.
