II. TRANSFORMATION
Finding New Frequencies
The Composer celebrates the creative processes through which musical ideas are developed, organized, and
transformed into compositions. Using painted paper, musical notation, and photographic fragments from
earlier artworks, Skira creates a collage in which familiar elements are rearranged into a new visual structure.
Against a vivid blue background, the figure appears engaged with musical notation, suggesting the relationship
between imagination and the deliberate organization of sound. The artwork recognizes composition as an
inventive process in which musical ideas are explored, refined, and brought into relationship with one another.
The reuse of imagery from earlier works also echoes musical sampling.
