Audio Puffs

Audio Puffs introduces an inhabitant of an imagined future in which music remains integral to identity, culture,
and everyday life. Constructed from salvaged speaker heads, records, a record player component, an afro
comb, and painted canvas, the artwork transforms recognizable musical objects into elements of a futuristic
portrait. The arrangement of speakers contributes to the figure’s appearance, while the afro comb establishes
a connection to Black cultural identity and history. Skira imagines a future in which music remains accessible
to everyone, without gatekeepers determining who can create, share, or experience it. Although music and
technology continue to evolve, cultural histories remain present within new forms of identity and expression.
